So, I'll start with this little miracle! On Tuesday, we kept thinking that we should visit a member in our ward. So we made time to stop by and when we pulled up...no one was home. Right when we were walking back to the car, she pulled in and said "sisters! I'm so glad you're here! I need your help!" So, turns out, she was going to the temple for the first time in 20 years and couldn't remember what or how to pack. We were able to help her with it and talk a little about temples and give her tips! It was so awesome and i loved being able to remember my experience in the temple. Although I've gone only once...it's still wonderful and I can't wait to go back again!
We also were able to make one of our referrals (yellow dots) into a green dot (meaning we are teaching her now)! That's awesome! Sister Waite and I are working on being more bold wkth our invitations. We just asked her "hey would you be interested in learning more with us?" And she was so excited and said yes. Just shows that we won't know until we ask. You can't just beat around the bush and hope to get somewhere with it. The worst she could said was no...and we can live with that haha! So we are working on that and just being straightforward! It's working so far haha! Also with that lady, I'm gonna give her some guitar lessons so yay! Idk how much I can help...but hopefully it's enough!
On Wednesday and Thursday I was on a trade off in St Aug with Sister Winder (my past companion) which was fun to flash back to my time with her. We wanted to do our companionship study somewhere that wasn't the house so we went to Vilano Beach and sat on the board walk next to the ocean and studied there. It was so beautiful and very fun! After that we went to a members house for dinner and they live on Vilano Beach...their house is beautiful! We ate outside and overlooked the great Atlantic Ocean. While we were eating I saw some dolphins jump out of the water! So cool! I get to serve in such a wonderful place! The Lord has blessed me greatly!
We had some lessons with Mark this week, which consisted of more and more questions haha! We invited him to read the book of Mormon and pray about it, to put Moronis challenge to the test (because he likes testing things)...his reply was "I'll pray about reading the Book of Mormon" AH! We are working and working and hopefully soon he will read it! One discussion at a time. Any advice is appreciated :)
We stopped by a less active members house one day because a lesson canceld and that was a great experience. She was baptized a while ago but has fallen away a bit. At first she was kinda off put by us but then she mentioned painting...and Sister Waite and I both love to paint so we told her and she lit up! She was like, "ah well...I have to show you my work now!" And let me tell ya, her work is AMAZING! She does realistic and abstract and is good at it all! When she was showing us her paintings and telling us her story, the spirit was so strong and I felt such a deep love for her. Sister Waite said the same too! I love getting to know people's stories!
I realized that, in the past 5 and a half months, i have come to know so many wonderful people that I would've never got the chance to meet if I hadn't chosen to come on a mission. Everyone and everything is placed in our lives for a reason. I can't imagine my life without every single person I've met! I'm just so thankful!
Also fun times/random facts of the week! I got to see my brother Landon get married to Savanah! Such a fun experience and a beautiful wedding! I caught a gecko and a frog! Sister Waite and I built a bench. I'm learning how to do a cool yoga thing!
Ya, that's about it for this week! I'll try to do better with writing down the cool/fun details of my day so I can remember them for yall!
I hope yall have a wonderful and grace filled week! Stay safe and have faith in all you do!
Love yall!
Sister Huff :)
