Hello everyone! This one is gonna be a quick one hopefully! P days get crazy sometimes. We played pickle ball for a good few hours today and that was super fun! I can proudly say I'm getting better!
Not too much happened this week. Just more contacting and some lessons...which actually, we've consistently been having 2 lessons a day which is pretty great! It just doesn't seem like much because our people aren't really progressing. That's ok though, everyone has their own time and I have a good feeling about this week!
We've been trying to have lessons with this guy named Todd but in doing so we've had more lessons with this guy named Mark! Mark is super cool and really wants to know more about our beliefs. In our most recent lesson, we discussed more of the restoration and really took the time to have an actual sit down lesson. In other contacts, there was a bunch of stuff going on so it was hard to focus. He seems pretty promising!
We had another lesson with Tyler and that was pretty good. We didn't get to far into the plan of salvation though because he had to run home. We weren't sure why until he came back in a different shirt...turns out he got sick and came back to tell us that he needed to go home and lay down! We were like, "ummm yeah! it's ok!" So, we will try again next time!
Sister Smith had the opportunity to do a church swap with Greg and Sally. They go to an Apostolic church. They invited us to their Friday night service...it was all a music concert thing. So up on the stand were people playing all types of instruments, flute, clarinet, trombone, trumpet, banjo, guitar, bass, drums, all the things! And then of course there was a piano and an organ. They didn't sound too bad either! All the songs sound the same though and the lyrics are pretty simple and easy to catch onto! Also, the songs would normally last maybe 2 minutes...but they would sing the chorus like 20 times so they lasted forever! Meanwhile people in the crowd would raise their hands in praise and singing. It was fun! Hopefully Greg and Sally will come to our church too!
On Sunday night while at a dinner and Come Follow Me discussion, this little girl came and sat next to me. She's like 4 years old and the sweetest thing ever! But we're just chilling and then all the sudden this girl is sniffing me....? I was so genuinely confused. Like she was sniffing me like a dog would. I didn't know what to do so I just looked around and everyone was like, "ya she does that sometimes" She kept doing it at random times during the lesson haha and eventually I asked if I smelled good...she didn't say anything so do with that what you will haha!
OH ALSO another funny kid moment! On Saturday we had a Family History booth at the city farmers market. It went super well! We were also selling cookies and this little girl walks up with her dad. I asked if she wanted a cookie and she quickly nodded her head yes, then proceeded to snatch a cookie off the table and smacks a half eaten strawberry onto the table as payment. I was laughing so hard and 100% would've taken that haha! She was so cute!
This coming week is gonna be a good one for us and I hope that it is for yall too!
Here's a quick scripture I read this week that I wanted to share with yall! It is in Mosiah 7:33
"But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage."
I know that in turning to the Lord for help, He will help us and will guide us to what we need to do.
Have a great week! Love yall and happy valentines day!
Sister Huff :)
