| Idaho girl in Georgia |
This week has been interesting! First off, it has been rainy and gloomy for most of the week. This has made it kinda chilly...not Idaho chilly, but nonetheless I have worn a jacket consistently haha!
Second, we started this week off by going out to the boonies! The area I'm in is the largest of the FJM so we have lots of country areas to cover. We traveled an hour to Edison to drop off a Bible to someone and check up on some people that are in that area. That whole trip was interesting to say the least haha and we probably won't be going back any time soon. So the main road to Edison was blocked off and that led us to take many many back roads. I got to see true Georgia! It was very beautiful but stressful because we had no clue where we were haha (it's hard to tell when there's no mountains around for directions)! Once in Edison, we stopped at some peoples houses to check in on them...no one was home. Then we had one last house and met the sweetest lady! Her name is Tina and boy, she's had a tough life but her faith and trust in God is amazing! We talked for a long time on her porch...more so she talked to us for a long time haha! Sister Davis and I are gonna try and be more bold when we talk with people so we can at least get a little lesson into the conversations haha! Going home we also had to take back roads and finally we got home, ate Chick fil a, and went to bed!
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were full days of contacting referrals and checking in on people taught in the past. We mainly did this because almost all our lessons fell through and we just needed to fill time. Most of our contacts were unsuccessful too though :(. Needless to say, those days were long and disappointing but we still found the fun in it! The contacts we had were pretty successful though! One lady we had Bible study with today and that was a fun time! Also we met this other lady who had lots of questions about our church. We are teaching her again next week!
Saturday we did service for literally the coolest family here, the Rosatos! They have a beautiful house and property next to a river and there's a lot of service to do!
Fun fact about where I am, we are in a huge teaching pool so there's lots of work to do. Its low-key really overwhelming but I'm not complaining! I'm working on taking things one day at a time and taking time to relax for a bit. If I don't I'll get exhausted fast.
I've seen lots of animals so that's cool! Puppies, cats, roosters, frogs, lizards, and lots of roadkill... Also flowers are blooming on the side of the roads and they are very pretty! Its the little things!
That's about it! This week's takeaway is to not run faster than you have strength and look for God's hand in your lives daily. Christ is here with us always, even amongst the chaos. Take time to look and you will find Him.
Have a wonderful week! Love you all! And thanks for reading this whole thing lol!
