So, ya know how I was in a trio, training, and was in the most boonies area ever? Well, I am no longer doing that haha! I was emergency transferred to the opposite side of the mission on Thursday, to the most boujee place, let me tell ya all about it!
On Tuesday and part of Wednesday, Sister Schwager, Sister Hancock and I were just getting to know the area and getting settled in all nice. Being in a trio was so fun and I loved it! We all just vibed really well and I was looking forward to the impact we would make on the Holmes Creek area...and then we got a call...President Wood called us right before a meeting with someone. We had to discuss our area with him anyways but then he says, "I also have some business to discuss with sister Huff, is she around?" He then proceeded to give me the call of being emergency transferred to Nocatee Florida to be companions with a sister winder. Her trainee was going home because of a health issue and I'd be filling in her spot. I was so shocked! Obviously I agreed and he then told us that I would be leaving the next day so I'd need to pack. I packed for the rest of the night and next morning and then we headed across the state of florida haha!
I was literally being taxied around by a bunch of missionaries and did the same trip that I did a week ago again haha! So Sister Schwager and Sister Hancock drove me to Tallahassee where I was picked up by two other sisters who took me to Lake City where I met up with Sister Winder and her companion Sister Smith. (I also got my bedding there so yay!) From Lake City we drove to Nocatee which is 15 min south of Jacksonville. That whole day was exhausting and I pretty much was just going with the flow of things.
Heres some fun facts about Nocatee:
My wonderful mission mom (sister Davis) served here before going to Albany so I'm getting lots of advice from her
there are soooooo many gated communities here!
Everyone drives a golf cart (we are in golf central!)
Everyone is super rich
I now have my own bathroom once more haha!
We are being fed every night
the members are AWESOME!
The next day, Thursday, I was in a cute city called Polatka with a new missionary because both our comps are STLs and had to go to a missionary leadership meeting in Jax. We hang out and did work and it was really fun to get to know her. She's only been out a week!
My new comp is Sister Winder as I've said before and she's awesome! I'm excited about what we can do here! We are gonna work real hard!
The rest of the week was good and we've done a TON of contacting!
So, ya that was my crazy week! I definitely relied on the Lord a lot and after having a good pity party, I figured that I'd get up and press forward. I just wanted some rest, and prayed so hard and then the scripture Matthew 11:28-30 came to mind. "come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." How wonderful is that?! God knows us so well and knew exactly what I needed in that moment. If Christ could go through all that He did for us, then I could face this challenge with Him by my side. I know that we can and will always find endless help from Christ as we turn to Him in the good and the bad. He wants to help us sooo much and will as we go to Him in faith. There is always something to learn from a trial, and I'm still learning but for now, press forward! All is well!
Continue in the faith yall! I love each of yall so much and I hope yall have a wonderful week!
Sister Huff :)
