Y’all it’s Christmas and also 9 months!!!

Alright everyone! I've had a crazy busy week and everyday was all over the place! We would daily plan...but to no avail. That's when President Woods' saying of "plan well and execute with flexibility" came in haha!

So to begin, Merry almost Christmas! I hope the most of yall are enjoying the cold weather! I've discovered that when it's warm around Christmas, it just doesn't really feel like Christmas ya know? Plus people in the south don't really decorate for Christmas as much as the people back home which is a little disappointing but we put our own lights up so it's all good! Our house is pretty festive!

On Wednesday we had to get our cars oil changed so we got lunch and were planning on eating it while waiting in the waiting room...but that place was full of people so we went out to a little bench by a busy intersection and ate our Panera there haha! We got lots of weird looks for sure but as missionaries we're used to it by now lol! Anyways, there a nice little funny story for you.
OH! Another funny story which was mostly just craziness happened on Friday. Friday was transfer day and we were in a trio with sister Carter until her comp got to Lake City. We had some people to visit in the afternoon so we just went around and showed Sister Carter Lake City as we did so! Needless to say, Sister Carter saw pretty much all that Lake City has to offer in only a few hours! First off, we weren't on the bestest side of town. There we were gonna have a lesson with Kaneisha but she wasn't home :( then we stopped to see this one lady who always sits on her porch...and she said to come back later :( THEN we went to visit a member in the area...and she wasn't home :(( SO, we had one more lady to visit (she also wasn't home but that isn't important right now) and on the way to her house a garbage truck lost a bag of garbage and we ran right over it and it got stuck under our car! So I pulled over to get it out...but there was a creepy dude walking past our car so Sister Smith was just gonna wait until he passed us. Thankfully the creepy dude got the garbage bag for us! blessings! so I rolled down Smiths window to say thank you...and that man just started to ramble nonsense to us  for about 5 min straight. It felt like an eternity lol! He was talking about some stuff that people share and that it is unsalted...but not just unsalted, it just doesn't have salt...unsalted pot...then he asked if we knew what he was talking about. I just smiled and said "uhhuh!" After that he just left...yay for Lake City!! Fun times!

We also did a huge service project for a lady that we've now began to teach! She is the sweetest human ever! In her yard is a giant oak tree and the leaves were EVERYWHERE in her yard. So, we asked if we could rake them for her! It took us and the elders 3 hours and 22 big garbage bags to do! It was so much fun though especially because this woman was so very thankful! Probably one of the best services I've been able to do! Plus, her yard looks fantastic now!

One other great thing that strengthened my testimony of missionary work was the amount of people who just told us that we have an amazing light to us. Both times we were in a bible study and afterwards the nonmembers there just expressed how impressed they are with us missionaries and members of our church for their knowledge of the scriptures and zeal towards the gospel! It's so awesome to be able to spend every waking second of my day serving the Lord and I know that people notice it! People notice your light! Let it shine and share what you have!

We've also taught some amazing lessons this week! Lake City is popping off currently!

Also fun fact...I've been on a mission for 9 months now!?! What the heck?! Time has flown by and I have loved every second of it! To think I only have 9 more months is mind blowing and I can't wait to see what the Lord will have me do!
Within 9 months I've had 7 transfers, 6 companions, 5 areas and a lot of stories to tell! My heart is with the people in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. I love them all so much! Within 9 months I've grown so much in my testimony. In more ways than I ever thought possible! There is still so much more to learn in the gospel and there is still so much more to do. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's new testament church restored to this earth. I know that through fervent study and prayer, our questions will be answered. I know that God puts people in our paths each day, knowing that we will make a difference in their life. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, was born, lived, and died for us, for me. I have no doubt in my mind that He He goes among us in this great work! This is His work to do, I'm just happy to be an instrument in His hands! It's so exciting!

With that, I love yall so much! Keep up the faith! Press forward. Make this the best week ever! (because it's Christmas obviously haha!)

Love, Sister Huff :)
