Florida: Australia of the USA

Hello from the Sunshine state...and when I say "sunshine" state, I mean blazen hot fire ball and humidity state haha! This week the high was 111 degrees and the humidity was somewhere in the 50s/60s. But nonetheless, I love it here and I love this great work of gathering scattered Israel! Plus, the second that the sun gets lower in the sky, the temperature is phenominal!

So, this week was pretty sweet! We had a good amount of things fall through and time to fill which wasn't terrible because it led to some great opportunities to serve others!

We put Chuck on date to be baptized!!! The date is for August 6th but hopefully we can move it a little bit closer! He is so ready and excited to step onto the covenant path that will bring him evermore closer to Heavenly Father and Christ! Keep him in yalls prayers!

Friday was probably our most eventful day! At the foodbank we do service at, we had a great discussion with one of the ladies, Mary. She is the one we gave a book of Mormon to a while ago and she had more questions for us. We ended up teaching her the whole restoration and she said that next week she will have more things to ask! Yaya!
After that service, we went to a members house to help with one of their neighbors. After our super easy service project we went back to their house for lunch. Later on, musical intruments were brought up in the conversation and we found out that Brother Schnur plays the didgerydoo (or however you spell that) (its a crazy instrument from Austrailia)!!! Man, it is on my bucket list to play one of those and guess what...I GOT TO! We brought one home to practice and not gonna lie, Sister Packer might start a band, we're that good haha!
Along with a didgerydoo and some random hotdogs that we got at the foodbank, we also got a bunch of Justin Bieber merch from another service we did this day haha! The lady we were serving had a box with some of his merch and was like, hey do you want this stuff? Niether Sister Packer or I are big Justin Bieber fans but....why not?! So on this night, we came home with 6 random hotdogs, a didgerydoo, and a bunch of JB merch :)))

On another note, I recently read some amazing talks that President Wood has been sending us. One of the talks is called "Bread or Stones: Understanding the God we pray to" and it is an amazing talk! I highly recommend reading it! The other talk I read is called "Applying the Atoning Blood of Christ".
In those two talks I learned these simple truths that I'd like to share with yall!
God doesn't give useless things. Every answer we receive or trial we endure will always be for our good, we simply have to see it that way. See our experiences as bread, not stones.
We must purposefully pursue the cause of mortality.
Christ's empathy was perfected when He performed the Atonement.
Let your uncertainty give way to His certainty.
Count your blessings and make them count!

I love yall so much and I hope your week will be fantastic! Continue to look for God's hand in each day. I know you'll find it because we find what we look for!

Also, thus week we get a new mission president and President & Sister Wood are leaving! Words can't describe how thankful I am for those two humans! God really does put people in our lives for a reason!

Love,
Sister Huff :)
