Eating internationally

Happy 4th of July yall! I hope your day is filled with lots of fireworks and watermellon!

This week was SOOOO GOOD!!! The amount of miracles we saw was astronomical! So let me just list them here:

1. Monday, we had the most amazing lesson I've ever had on my mission probably! It was with Tee and holy moly, the Spirit was almost tangable. At the very beginning of the lesson I had the thought, "you're going to ask her to be baptized." my first reaction was "what? no way!" But the spirit sure showed me and it totally led to us asking her if she'd be baptized! We started with talking about 2 Nephi 31:20-21 which led to us talking about what eternal life means to each of us. She then led us to a scripture in Matthew and we talked a lot about how Christ asks us to be as little children. Everything that was said was totally from the spirit! There's a scripture that says that the Holy Ghost will put into our minds what we should say and He will take our message to their hearts. That 100% happened! After we asked her to be baptized, she told us that she felt that being baptized would be the thing that fills the gap that she feels in her life right now and that the Book of Mormon was filling that gap as she continued to read. After the lesson, Sister Packer and I just looked at each other with tears in our eyes and just sat there in so much joy! It was so amazing! Words obviously can't describe these events at all because this is a trash description haha! Just know that, the Spirit is the teacher and God will use us as instruments in His hands!

2. We had a wonderful lunch with a lady we've been doing service for named Arezoo! She is the sweetest lady and her daughter Rachine joined us as well. Arezoo is from Iran and told us some cool stories about her life there and how she got to America. We also talked about church and they were like, "we would love to join yall for church on of these days!" We were not planning on all of that happening but once again, the Lord provides and the Spirit guides. Later in the week, while I was on a tradeoff in San Jose, my super awsome comp gave Arezoo and Rachine a Book of Mormon! Wooooo!! #theammonapproachworks

3. When I was on the trade off in San Jose, we also witnessed another miracle! We were just walking back to our car and a guy stopped by us and told us to go and help his wife and gave us his address. So we went and did that and turns out that mans wife is a member and they were moving into a new house so we helped her unpack. A little girl named Yaslin was helping us and by the end of the night we gave her a Spanish Book of Mormon! Sister Gunter brought it up and the little girl was soooo excited to read it that she sat down, grabed my english BoM and was like "can we read it now?" So, I got to help her read a few verses in the most influencial chapter in the BoM...3 Nephi 11! We read together the verses that talk about how Christ let everyone come and feel the wounds in His hands and feet and side. Helping her sound out the words and then describing what happened was so cool. The spirit filled me with so much love for this girl and I know she felt that love too!

This week we also ate a bunch of international foods! On Sunday we had authentic Mexican food at a mission call opening. On Wednesday we had Middle Eastern food with Arezoo! On Friday we had a classic British dish of Yorkshire pudding and mash! Then we had Dominican Republic food with a member on Saturday! We made fried plantaines! They are so yummy!

Today for the 4th of July we had a district p day and made waffles and had a water balloon fight! That was super fun!

I hope yall have an amazing week! Remember to follow the Spirit in all things! He will guide you to what you need to do!

Love yall!

Sister Huff :)
