Knowledge of the temple!

Wow! Another week has come and gone!

Thankfully no storms woke us up this week haha but we did have some pretty crazy storms in the day! They are so cool to watch!

On Tuesday, Sister winder and I were in a trio for a day with one of the St. Augustine sisters so that her companion could go to the temple! She and all the missionaries going home were able to go through the temple so that is awesome! We dropped her off in Jacksonville early in the morning and then picked her up later in the day. It was so fun to see the missionaries there especially after they went through the temple because they were glowing with happiness! I can't wait until I can go through as a missionary. I also got to say some final goodbyes to some of the legendary missionaries I had the privilege of knowing!
So this day of being a trio, we had some errands to run and contacting to do...one of the errands was to get our oil changed and that took much longer than expected soooo contacting didn't happen...but we did text some people and did family history while waiting haha! We also got Cold Stone...I definitely missed that place!

On Thursday we had zone conference!! I love zone conferences! So we talked a lot about the temple and the promises we make in the temples. I think temples are sooo amazing! We read about temples from the Bible Dictionary and one sentence stood out to me, "Only the home can compare with the temple in sacredness". Really think about that! The home is being compared with the temple! May we all strive to make our homes a zion like environment where we can learn and grow each day in the most positive ways! Also those in Pocatello, go through the Pocatello temple open house!! The open house is also a wonderful opportunity to invite others to come and see...so INVITE! Think, ponder, and pray to know who to invite then follow the spirit and act on promptings! I know you will see blessings from doing so! Anyways, back to zone conference haha! In my interview with president Wood we talked about being on a spiritual plateau. Ya know, when you have a super knowledgeable spiritual experience and then, you just kinda stay at that level without anything too fancy happens. That is where I am/was and I didn't like it haha! But President gave me some wonderful advice. That it is ok to be on that plateau as long as you keep going forward and seek more knowledge. He also said "don't force a spiritual experience, it will come." Answers and growing will always be happening. Some times will be faster than others but as long as we are putting in our best effort, we will grow.
That led us to discussing how much I have grown since being out on a mission. It is crazy how much you can "change" within a few months. Look back to where you were a few months ago and assess how you are doing. Be pleased with your growth but never satisfied because we can always increase to the full potential God has in store for us! It reminds me of what my dad taught me as a kid. We would go skiing and I would look down the ski hill and think "there is no way I can do this. this is too scary." but, somehow, my dad got me to do it haha, taking it turn by turn. Once we would get to the bottom, he would look at me and say, "look back up there! Look at what you just did! It wasn't so bad was it?" then we would continue down the hill. It is so important to do this in life, look back at your experiences. Look at what you did! Look at how you've grown! Then continue on with what you have learned.

On Friday and part of Saturday I was on a trade off with Sister Anderson in Palatka. That was a super fun time! We did so much service! It was nice, there's not a lot of service opportunities in Nocatee sadly. But anyways, we volunteered at two food bank places. The one I love the most is EpicCure. We just take bags of food and pack it into people's cars as they drive up. Its super cool...but super hot when it comes to temperature haha! I have never sweat so much in my life! This humidity is CRAZY!
While at EpicCure I talked to this other volunteer there and learned that he is from Tucson Arizona! (For those who don't know, my family used to live there) I learned about his life and all that (like that he went to the senior Olympics for pickleball!) Literally the coolest guy! He then out of nowhere goes, "so your church just built a temple in Tucson." So, we started talking about temples and how pretty the Tucson Arizona one is. He asked some good questions about it, like if he could go inside. We told him some info about that and said if he wanted to see the inside of a temple, he could watch the tour of the Rome Italy temple video. He was super excited about that so we sent it to him. Hurrah for Israel and talking to people! Hopefully our paths cross again!
You never know who you're going to meet! Be kind and talk to everyone!!!

Later that night we actually played pickleball at a youth activity! And man, that sport is kinda confusing I'm not gonna lie haha! But nonetheless it is super fun once you get the hang of it!

As far as the work in Nocatee goes, not too much is happening. I've determined that Nocatee is a newly developing town that is mostly just a bunch of rich neighborhoods, gated communities, and a shopping center haha! However, the ward is awesome and I'm loving it here! We are working our hardest to get some stuff going! By small and simple means are great things brought to past! Although, this week, Sister winder got an ear infection :( so we've been taking things slow. Pray for her!

That is it for this week! Sorry it is a bit long but good on you if you read it all!

Know that I love y'all! Have a wonderful and blessed week!

Sister Huff :)
