Let me start with the fact that we have done so much yellow dot work (cleaning up our referrals) So mostly it was a week of contacting. Three great things came from this! One, we got in contact with lots of people. Two, we were able to give a Book of Mormon to a guy we met. His mom referred herself but wasn't interested but he said wanted a Book of Mormon and to give him 2 weeks! he'd read it in 2 weeks apparently so I will update you on this one later haha! That was cool though! The third thing was that we met some wonderful sisters to teach and they are doing great! We had a super good lesson with them on Sunday and I truly learned that God is so aware of us! So, we have call lessons with these ladies and Davis and I were discussing what we wanted to talk to them about. We both thought of faith. We went into the Bible to find scriptures about faith and came across Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." We decided that that was going to be the one to study with them. So we called and asked how they were doing. The one sister told us that she gets daily bible verses and...the one she got today was Hebrews 11:1!!! Sister Davis and I looked at each other in awe! We had such a wonderful lesson about faith with them!
Frank is doing well too! He came to church which is always a good thing! Then we had a lesson with him after church. We studied 2 Nephi 2 which talks about the Plan of Salvation. Frank had so many questions, the discussion was great! We also asked him if he would be interested in becoming a member...he said yes so quickly! The spirit was so strong and I am sooooo thankful for Frank. Keep him in your prayers!
There was an emergency transfer with the elders here in Albany so now we have another elder who is super cool! Fun times!
The weather is getting hotter and hotter by the minute! Not even the shade can get you away from the sticky heat. but there are some good things about it....the frogs sing at night! Its a beautiful song!
So, for my subject line, eternal perspectives. Having an eternal perspective is so important when it comes to trials in life. When you have an eternal perspective, you can see trials for what they really are. They are steps to help you grow closer to God if you choose to turn to Him for help and rely on the Savior. Instead of asking "why God?" one would ask "what am I to learn?" This outlook has changed my life so much. Trials are hard and they will always come but when we focus on how we can learn and grow from them, the trials will be more bearable. Christ will provide all the help we need!
I hope y'all have a wonderful week! Love you all!!!!
Sister Huff :)
