New Series of Unfortunate Events

Wow! What a week! The fact that I'm still functioning is incredible...

So according to my subject line, this week really was a week of unfortunate events but there's always blessings even amongst chaos. I'll start by telling of the unfortunate things and then I'll finish with the good!

To start...I'll include a disclaimer: if you like animals (specifically cats) or don't like hearing about things dying...skip to the next paragraph :)
We were at a lesson with someone that the Elders passed on to us. She is super sincere about learning more and I'm excited to see what happens with her! However our lesson was not a fun time haha! To start off, the spirit just totally wasn't there because a couple minutes into the lesson, there was some loud arguing going on within the house. We were outside under a garage port doing the lesson. There was lots and lots of swear words coming from inside and the lady we are teaching had to run in twice to break up the fight. She wanted to continue the lesson so we did. A few minutes later her aunt walks out and gets in the car to go somewhere. We all got up so she could pull out but she told us that she would just go the back way so we wouldn't have to move. After a while she pulls out of the driveway and we heard a crunch...then the lady we were teaching gasps as the car pulls away...one of the kittens had been run over and was seizing on the grass. I quickly got up to see if I could help it in any way but it was too bad to do anything for, we watched its spirit leave its body. I legit almost started crying, poor thing. Quickly I sat back down and we hurried to finish the lesson but then I started to smell something...one of the other cats had started eating a dead squirrel that had been there for a while. Flys started flying everywhere and the smell was terrible. Long story short, we got out of there fast and took a good second to sit in the car and recover from what had just happened. We said a prayer to get the spirit back and then went on with our day...barely. After that we had some car trouble and ended up just going home. The day was no bueno.

That day threw off the vibes a lot so the rest of the week just wasn't happy times but oh well! Some good things happened as well.
1) I saw some ducks!!!
2) We had a super good lesson with someone we are teaching! She expressed that she sees a light in sister davis and I that she wants to experience and have. How cool?! The knowledge of the gospel certainly does make us stand out! People will always see that so be sure you are aware!
3) On Wednesday we had some time to kill and decided to go tracking! (we can do that now but are encouraged not to because it isn't effective) We did it for the experience though (which president said we could do) So we drove around a neighborhood and one house stood out in particular. We went up to it, expecting literally nothing but turns out, the guy was interested! We had no clue what to do next so we just got his number and set up a time to meet later! Yay!

Always try to look at the good in life!

Recently I read a byu speech called "the power of your words". I highly recommend reading it, it is so good! Our words are so very powerful! Especially what we say to ourselves. Something that I'm working on is not doubting myself. The second you think or say "I can't do this" then you are setting yourself up for failure and you won't be able to do it. Faith and doubt cannot exist in the same place...and faith can get you so much further than doubt will. this has to do with any opposing thoughts. Negative and positive.
Try your best to change your attitudes and thoughts, it will bless you immensely!

Hope y'all have a wonderful week! This next week we get transfer calls so yayayayay! The future looks bright!

Love y'all!
Sister Huff :)
